Four wheel drive explained

FOUR-WHEEL DRIVE (4WD) A 4WD vehicle has power to all its wheels. However, it’s also possible to activate and deactivate this 4WD element. This is useful because it provides better traction in off-road conditions, which is when 4WD comes into its own. But when you’re driving in town or simply don’t need to worry about snow, mud or difficult terrain, you can turn off 4WD, switch to 2WD, and improve fuel economy. These days, many manufacturers provide 4WD as an option – and cars with these systems tend to have a button or lever to select between 4WD or 2WD. Additionally, some vehicles will automatically detect road surfaces and apply the appropriate driving mode for you, as well as numerous other 4WD settings.

Rear wheel drive basics !!

Rear Wheel Drive – RWD Meaning     With the engine powering only the rear wheels, these vehicles are sometimes thought of as giving a more authentic drive, with the front two wheels free to deal with the steering and the back two providing the “push.” In addition, with the weight of the car towards the rear, there tends to be greater grip and power. The downside of this, and the separation of steering and power, is that rear-wheelers can be more difficult to drive in snow and ice than front-wheel drive cars. Nevertheless, you will find plenty of advocates of rear-wheel drive who will point to a more enjoyable experience behind the wheel as one of the main reasons to choose one of these cars.

Front wheel drive simple meanig !!

Front-Wheel Drive – FWD  FWD means that the power from the engine is delivered to the front wheels of your vehicle. With FWD, the front wheels are pulling the car and The rear wheels don’t receive any power on their own. The pros of a FWD vehicle are that they typically gets better fuel economy and emits less carbon dioxide. Since the weight of the engine is located over the driving wheels, a FWD vehicle can maintain better traction in the snow. However, performance enthusiasts have claimed FWD vehicles are less fun to drive. Always wear a seatbelt,  drive carefully .

The safety feature which will save you and others !!

EBD (Electronic Brakeforce Distribution)   An extension of the ABS responsible for diverting equal brakeforce to the respective wheel. Electronic Brake Distribution system uses the vehicle’s ABS to adjust the braking force between all the wheels depending on tyre grip. It automatically adjusts the brake force depending on conditions to make sure that the front and rear axles yield the best braking force possible without the wheel locking up.   This systems work in tandem with ABS using  an electronically controlled valve which diverts hydraulic pressure to the front and rear axles. EBD offers significant braking durability under any conditions and is not dependent on ABS to operate. The hardware of EBD comprises the following components which are: Wheel Speed sensors, load sensors, Brake force modulators /Valves, Electronic Control Unit (ECU) . Advantages of EBD System 1.      EBD enhances stability an...

The safety feature which will save you and others !!

BA (Braking Assist)   Also known as  Emergency Brake Assist (EBA)   is another piece of car braking technology. As the name suggests is responsible to assist the driver in emergency stop situation. If you have been through a situation where you had to attempt an emergency stop, you might have felt like jamming the brake pedal all through the floor. However, an average driver isn’t actually fast enough for a situation like this, where a millisecond of delay can translate to catastrophe. This is where Braking Assist steps in. Brake assist converts that mild pedal  pushes  to a complete halt. A sensor attached to the brake pedal triggers the brake assist system to detect when the driver is attempting to stop in an emergency situation and applies full braking pressure until the car comes to a complete halt.   Advantages of Brake Assist 1.      Reduces stopping distance upto 45% 2.      ...

Wo invented " The seat belt " you use in your car ??

The History Of Seatbelts | Its Time To Buckle Up! “ A passive system, the seat belts are one of the best safety features present in every vehicle. Be it a hatchback or an aeroplane you’ll find seat belts in all of them. Let’s take a look into the history of seatbelts and how they have changed the driving experience. “                                Retractable seat belts In 1946 by Dr C. Hunter Shelden, He figured out that the primitive design of the seat belts didn’t help that much and with this study, he made the retractable seat belts.  He contributed to other safety systems as well such as recessed steering wheels and the idea of airbags. Around the 1950s almost all racing cars adopted seat belts and someplace made it mandatory for a car to have a seat belt in order to be eligible in a race.               Improving the seat bel...

Types of Headlights we used in our cars !!

" Different types of Headlights used in cars"                  The 3 Types of Headlights 1.    Halogen                                              ·           Halogen hedlamp are an improvement of incandescent lights (sealed beam lights). Incandescent lights are still used for classic cars. With that said, Halogens have truly taken over as the standard in most vehicles. ·         There are five halogens, however, only two are used in halogen headlights: Iodine and Bromine. Halogens are monovalent elements and they readily form negative ions. Halogen lights use a combination of iodide and bromine gases that prevent the tungsten filament from breaking. They also prevent suit formation (blackening) inside the bulb. ·    ...
